My name is Austin Livingston and I am currently a senior at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri studying agriculture. I spend most of my time in overalls and an old baseball cap given to me by one of my grandpas. I wanted to start a blog to be able to share some of the lessons I have learned on my 22-year journey of life. I have been blessed beyond measure to have good life teachers, and now it's my job to put those lessons into actions.

I try to enjoy the simple things in life the most, as one will be more likely to find consistent joy that way. My favorite TV show is The Andy Griffith Show, where I strive to mirror Andy in my actions, but rather end up acting more like Barney. I also enjoy Green Acres, and I do have the nickname, "Oliver Wendell Douglas" from certain members of my family.

I was exposed to gardening at a very early age, and some of my favorite memories involve me sitting on the back of a pickup truck shucking corn until my thumbs were painfully sore. I was born and raised in the city, only having exposure to agriculture through both sets of my grandparents, who lived on farms. I think I still baffle people on why I have such a strong passion for agriculture. I may still be a living Oliver Wendell Douglas, but you will be hard-pressed to find anyone who loves and enjoys gardening more than I do.

I sincerely thank each and every person who takes the time to read this, as it provides me the greatest encouragement.
